U.S. Congress Tennessee Distirct 7 Candidate
I believe that God gave us our rights and that the only purpose of the Federal Government is to protect those rights. Our forefathers wrote the Constitution to limit the government. They did not want the government to be able to infringe on the rights of the people. My political beliefs are much in line with the Constitution Party of Tennessee. My platform is the United States Constitution.
I am running because our current Congressman, Marsha Blackburn, either does not understand the U.S. Constitution or simply chooses to ignore it. She calls herself a conservative republican, but her votes in Congress do not match her rhetoric.
I will oppose any bill/proposal that is NOT Constitutional. I will oppose any bill that would increase the size, reach, or cost of government. If it increases the liberty of the individual, I will support it. Unlike our current representative, I will vote for less spending and less government.
I will vote to cut spending on Foreign Aid. Nowhere in the Constitution have I found that we are to give our tax dollars to other nations. People have the freedom to give to other nations if they so choose, but do not take money intended for the operation of our government and give it to other nations.
I will not support the United Nations. I believe sending your tax dollars to the United Nations is un-Constitutional. I will vote to get us out of the World Trade Organization and will vote against any trade bill, such as CAFTA or the FTAA. Trade agreements like these are dangerous and threaten to override the laws of our country. I believe in keeping our country a sovereign nation.
Other Un-Constitutional spending that I will not vote for includes education, energy, labor, health and human services, and transportation. This type of spending is not allowed by the federal Constitution and belongs at the state level or should not be done by the government, period.
Our political representatives should be good stewards of our tax dollars, spending money responsibly and with discretion. I also believe that money should not influence votes, which is why I currently am not accepting money from any PAC, Political Party, Corporation, or from individuals. I ask only for your vote and support. With your help, we can put Constitutional Conservatives in the U.S. Congress and turn this great country back to a

Negative, the responsibilities for the Federal Government is spelled out in the Constitution, Education and welfare and health are not listed. Please see the 10th amendment.
First the 'general welfare' is in the section talking about duties and taxes and the use of these and that they are to be the same across the states. Thus the Federal government may collect taxes (excise) and must pay the bills thus ensuring the welfare OF THE COUNTRY. These are not INDIDVIDUAL rights are responsibilities.
I think the Consitution is quite clear, the powers of the Federal government are FEW and the powers of the the State government are Unlimited (as long as it does not interfer with the Federal constitution).
Look, Education can be done by the state and maybe it should. But health care for all should not be done by any governement. there is your example
Sounds good, although many people would interperate the constitution differently and it may be good to specify your "interpertation" of what you believe that the constitution says instead of using it directly as your platform.
May also I recommend getting your own domain to help with credibility, and that you consider running as a member of the Libertarian Party as that would increase your audience and does seem to be inline w/ your stance as well.

Sounds as if we have some things in common. I also recommend you set up a website as others have requested. There are free sites that you can use that work fine. I would like to know more about your views on things, at least updated being that some of these topics go back a few years. I have always considered myself a conservative, but these days i am tending to lean more towards libertarian. I want as small government as possible for fed, state, and local; and am at the point that I would run for an office myself if thats what it takes to get it done. I'm tired of big brother trying to get into my house and tell me what type of toilet paper i can use, and I would love more than anything to vote for someone that actually believes what I believe. I'm still new to politics and trying to learn, but I have limited sources. And what exactly is the difference between a constitutionalist and a libertarian?
My problem with Federal Libertarian is the issues on Drugs, Prostitution, Abortion, and Marriage. among some things.
